Liebster Award - 3

Here are my answers to the tag as given by Faith of Just Way Too Boss! Thank you Faith!

If you would live anywhere in the world, where?
I actually think the place where I live is a very nice sort of place to have a home and there is nowhere else in particular I'd rather have it. However, I would dearly love to try living all sorts of other places and then have this be my home base. :)

What dream occupation did you have as a child?
To be a member of Robin Hood's band perhaps or some such thing? As you can see, my choice would have been rather fraught with difficulty.

If you could only wear one color for the rest of your life, which color?
Blue. It's such a deliciously living sort of color and has such a variety of moods within its spectrum. Just thinking of it makes me feel tingly and adventurous.

 Favorite new book?
The Scent of Water by Elizabeth Goudge. It's either very odd or perfectly splendid, I just can't quite decide which. So please don't hold yourself quite recommended. :)

Do you prefer to watch foreign entertainment with subtitles, dubs, or you don’t like to watch foreign entertainment?
The only thing I've ever watched nearly to completion was the Austrian film, Sissi (1953) and it was sub-titled. Beautifully filmed with exquisite costumes and breathtaking scenery; I found it completely charming.

Favorite fairytale?
Beauty and the Beast...and sometimes Cinderella, but all my favorite re-tellings are of the former.

If you decided to learn another language, what language would you choose?
Spanish... because the cultures that speak it also happen to be the ones I find most fascinating!

Books or E-readers?
Books. I love the reality of them between my hands.

I'm not going to give the 11 random facts, but if you would like some about me you can read my two previous Liebster awards here, which (while yet being from the ancient chronicles) are still quite relevant. :)

Happy Springtime, friends!

  1. I think there is a whole group of us girls who wanted to be members of Robin Hood's band. ;)

    1. Lois,
You are probably very right. :) There's actually an episode in the 50's Adventures of Robin Hood in which a hero struck girl comes to the Greenwood with that very purpose and the way Robin Hood and his band deal with her hilarious!

  2. I loved all the oh-so-lovely pics throughout this post!

Being in Robin Hood's band! Yes indeed. Only I dreamed of being Maid Marian.;)

    Happy springtime and Easter, Eowyn!:)

    1. Rilla,
      Thank you!

I always loved Maid Marian, too! We went through a time where we were watching the 50's Robin Hood TV show and all my sisters and I did was rush around with arrows or in long flowy dresses helping Robin Hood. :) It is one of my all time favorite memories. :)

Thanks muchly for the comments and I hope you had a joyful Easter, too!

  4. Great answers, Eowyn! Joining Robin Hood's band; you had great goals as a kid! Hehe. Oh Sisi is such a beautiful, sweet movie. Really enjoyed it. I agree about the books. I just bought a e-reader recently and I really love it but there's still something perfect about holding a book. :D

    1. Faith,
Yes, didn't I. ;) My parents clearly showed me the right stories! Honestly though, Robin Hood (especially in his Richard Greene form) was and is a huge influence on who I am and my tastes in stories!

Ah, you've seen Sissi, too? That's super neat!

Thanks again for the tag. :)

  5. Aww, being a member of Robin Hood's band would indeed be very fun!

I completely agree about the color blue. It would be my choice as well. :)

While I did study Spanish a little in my sophomore and junior years, I did not enjoy it as much as I would have liked. I feel that learning it from a book is very hard...I'd much rather be friends with a Spanish-speaking person (or visit a Spanish-speaking country!) and learn that way. It just seems like the easier and more enjoyable alternative. haha Have you studied any languages for school? :)

    1. Natalie,
Hooray for blue! I think it's one of the most joyous things EVER! (Did that make sense? I'm not sure...)

It would be amazing to have the opportunity to be immersed in a Spanish speaking culture! I actually have studied some Spanish, but for some reason I always drift away just as I'm starting to really get into a flow of understanding, which is really a very silly habit that I must overcome! However, I do feel like I still understand some. :)

    2. It makes perfect sense! :D

Heehee, it sounds like we have the same "studying method." I'm glad you feel that you can understand some, though! I can recognize a handful of words and phrases. It's always a happy moment when I see something in Spanish and am able to read it. :)

    3. Natalie,
      Ha, good. :)

On Spanish again - I actually just got a CD from the library featuring a musical artist from the Texas-Mexican border who sings in Spanish. The fun bit is that in the booklet they have the lyrics in both Spanish and English and I've found myself correctly hearing many of the Spanish words!

    4. That CD sounds so cool! I'm glad you're able to recognize words. It's definitely easier to memorize things set to music. :)

    1. Olivia,
The story is set in a 50's English country village and is totally charming and quite deep, too. :)
